Our January Issue

Our January issue is out this week with loads of information to help you get 2011 off to a great start! We have an extended article about Family Finances , with tips on assessing and reducing your expenses as well as helpful stories from local families who have been successful doing both. We also have a feature called “Write On!” detailing how local schools have ramped up their efforts to nurture great writers and tips on what you can do at home to support those efforts. You’ll find all your favorite regular columns, too, including Ramona , an Out & About on cross-country skiing , and a Family Fare of Yakuza and their new Kids Happy Hour. Our Angels Among Us column features a partnership between the United Way of the Columbia-Willamette and Oregon Mentors to encourage more people to become mentors. (Did you know January is National Mentoring month?) And our Viewpoint from Energy Trust piggybacks on our Finance feature, with information about how you can save money (and natural resources!) by saving energy in your home. Pick up a copy beginning this week, or read it online beginning January 1.
