Two of the best, romantic restaurants in Portland are both in the Benson Hotel

Since opening in 1913, The Benson Hotel in Portland has graciously welcomed celebrities, CEOs and U.S. presidents. Now it’s your turn to discover the timeless beauty of our AAA four-diamond landmark, featuring Italian marble floors, Austrian crystal chandeliers and Circassian walnut from the imperial forests of Russia. Read more on the storied history of The Benson Hotel here:

The London Grill at the Benson Hotel.

London Grill

The cherished London Grill—recipient of numerous awards, including Gourmet Magazine’s “America’s Top Table Award”—has tempted diners for over 50 years. Experience Executive Chef Serge Selbe's award-winning cuisine featuring classic, tableside service - from Caesar Salad to Steak Diane to Bananas Foster and more!

The London Grill also boasts an impressive wine cellar with over 6,000 bottles of wine.

See our menus: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Private Dining: Three unique private dining rooms easily accommodate from 2 to 26 people.

Breakfast: 6:30am–11:00pm, Monday–Saturday
Champagne Brunch: 9:30am–2:00pm, Sunday only
Lunch: 11:30am–2:00pm, Monday–Saturday
Dinner: 5:00pm–9:00pm, Sunday–Thursday; 5:00pm–10:00pm, Friday and Saturda

The El Gaucho at the Benson Hotel:

El Gaucho

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind evening at this Argentinean-inspired steakhouse, set against a backdrop of live Latin guitar music. Discover beautifully prepared steaks and fresh seafood, along with tableside flambé desserts, an extensive wine list, and specialty cocktails.

Private Dining: Two private dining rooms provide flexible seating for up to 35 guests. For gatherings of up to 150 people, you may reserve the main dining room or the entire restaurant.

Dinner:
5:00pm–12:00am, Monday–Thursday
5:00pm–1:00am, Friday and Saturday
5:00pm–11:00pm, Sunday

The hotel is a great place to stay if you need a place to stay while in Portland. The last time we stayed in town for a weekend instead of driving home they gave us some local coupons, one of which was for the Portland Classical Chinese Garden. We eat at the London Grill everytime we get the chance.

depends on the artists really, if you Google the concert tour name, you might actually be able to find a set list, which should give you a pretty decent idea of how long the concert will be. I've been to a few three band concerts usually its something like: opening band 20-35 minutes, second 35-50 minutes, and headliners: 60-90 minutes. so all and all i'd say you're looking at anything from 2-3 hours roughly. i know its a pretty vague answer but its hard to be specific.

Well, probably the cheapest possibility would be to get one of Universal's week-long passes where you can come and go as you please for as many days as you choose. That way, if you want to hit a park for a couple hours in the morning then go back to the pool, you can and you won't feel you are losing your paid-for time.

Universal has two parks, which will take approximately 3 good days to cover thoroughly in the summer. Disney has four parks, which will take a minimum of 4 days to begin to cover. You'll probably need 2 days for Magic Kingdom, 1-2 for Epcot, and 1 each for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

There's also Sea World, which is an easy 1-day park.

So as far as what to see and the cheapest way, you really need to consider how much time you are willing to devote to the parks. Obviously, you can't spend one day at Disney and even put a dent in the entire resort, but you could choose to spend one day at Magic Kingdom and cover the best attractions. Or you could spend a whole week doing nothing but Disney every day and still not have done everything.

As far as ticket discounts, they really don't exist for these premier parks. So the price you see on their websites is the price you get. So you also need to think about the price vs. how much time per day you will spend. You don't want to spend $80 for a ticket and only go to the park for 2 hours before deciding to go back to the pool. You will want to rotate your lazy days with your park days. And on park days, you want to spend the great part of the day at the park.

Hi, We have a holiday home in Orlando (orlandoholidayhome.org.uk) I don't think Disney do a discounted ticket on 1 day, but you can get some good deals on multi day tickets a website we have used a lot for Disney tickets is www.park-tickets.com they have a 3 day Disney ticket with a free upgrade to a 5 day one if you book it on the website, you can either pick the tickets up in Orlando or have them delivered to you home address. I think you can get a Universal Studios 2 day pass which works out cheaper than buying a ticket for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure seperately. There is also the Orlando FlexiTicket, we have never used these but I've heard a lot of people saying there good value. You can get a lot of discount vouchers for attractions like Ripleys and Wonderworks when you get there, just keep a look out in the shops and supermarkets. Hope this helps, have a good time

Find a timeshare presentation to go to where they offer free Disney or Universal tickets.
It will cost you 90+ minutes of your time, but you can get free tickets that way...

Almost all Portland restaurants are casual. While some guests might wear tuxedos, etc., there are many folks in jeans, shorts, or whatever is appropriate for the weather.

There are some outstanding food carts around town. If you're from the east coast, that'll seem pretty silly, but it's true. Experimentation and creativity are at a maximum at many food carts due to the minimal financial overhead and risk. Check out a complete list and reviews at http://wweek.com/megasearch/ (click on Food and select type "Food carts").

For NW cuisine in town:
* Vita Cafe, NE 30th & Alberta http://www.vita-cafe.com/
* Old Wives' Tales, 13th & E. Burnside http://www.oldwivestalesrestaurant.com/
* Portland City Grill, 30th floor of Big Pink at 5th and W. Burnside http://www.portlandcitygrill.com/
* The Heathman Hotel, SW Broadway http://portland.heathmanhotel.com/html/portland-fine-dining.asp
* any of the McMenamins Pubs for a slightly funky selection of foods http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Mcmenamins&sll=45.548198,-122.577896&sspn=0.265437,0.582962&ie=UTF8&hq=Mcmenamins&hnear=&ll=45.531365,-122.614288&spn=0.265516,0.582962&z=11
For NW haute cuisine in the surrounding areas:
